Bowers & Wilkins’ PX5 wins Prestigious EISA On-Ear Headphones of the Year Award 2020-2021

EISA votes its first award for on-ear headphones to the Bowers & Wilkins PX5

EISA (The Expert Imaging and Sound Association) has recognized this huge popularity with their first award for on-ear headphones by voting Bowers & Wilkins PX5 as their top choice for 2020 – 2021.

Bowers & Wilkins, the world-renowned specialist audio company, applies the same philosophy of True Sound to all of its products whether a headphone or a reference monitor. The same engineering team that created the iconic 800 D3 model are directly responsible for the creation of PX5, with the company further guaranteeing optimum performance by manufacturing the majority of key technologies and components in-house.
A fact officially recognised by the Bowers & Wilkins PX5 winning the EISA On-Ear Headphones of the Year Award 2020 – 2021.

Judged by the largest collaboration of consumer electronics technical specialists in the world, representing 55 expert magazines and extending beyond 29 countries across the globe, an EISA Awards expert panel has been selecting the most innovative new products that combine truly advanced technology with world class-leading performance for almost 40 years.
Praising the PX5, the EISA judges said: “For its PX5 adaptive noise-cancelling headphones, Bowers & Wilkins pays equal attention to design, ease of use and performance. These are effortlessly stylish, with a spectacular finish blending carbon fibre, aluminium and fabric, while soft cushioned earpads and headband support long listening sessions. Sound quality from the custom-designed 35mm drivers is superb, with a frequency response ranging from deep bass to delicate highs. Both wired and wireless connections are possible, the latter via Bluetooth with support for aptX Adaptive. On-body controls include instant pause by lifting an earcup, and adjustment of the PX5’s high-quality noise-cancelling. If you love music on the go, you’ll love these.”
Commenting on the PX5’s award, Andy Kerr, Director, Product Marketing & Communications said: “At Bowers & Wilkins, we have made a huge effort to ensure our headphones deliver the same True Sound as our other reference products, guaranteeing that our customers always hear their music the way the artist intended it to be heard. The PX5 headphones feature key bespoke technologies including custom drivers, our own advanced ANC system, the pioneering using of carbon-fibre composites and our first use of the aptX adaptive Bluetooth system. We believe this allows the PX5 to lead the field in terms of performance, comfort, finish and operation. I’m delighted that the expert judges at EISA have agreed.”
