Klipsch RP-404C Center Channel Loudspeaker

The Klipsch RP-404C is a dedicated Reference Premiere centre channel speaker, designed to deliver clear, detailed dialogue and high-efficiency performance in home theatre systems.

At the heart of the RP-404C is a 1-inch Titanium LTS Vented Tweeter coupled to Klipsch’s 90° × 90° Hybrid Cross-Section Tractrix® Horn. The horn is designed to efficiently direct high-frequency energy toward the listening area, while the Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) titanium diaphragm is designed to minimise distortion.

The centre speaker also features four 4-inch spun-copper Cerametallic™ cone woofers. These lightweight and rigid drivers are designed to provide high efficiency with low distortion and are complemented by a rear-firing Tractrix® port for bass-reflex loading.

Cabinet & Finish

The enclosure is constructed from MDF

The Ebony and Walnut versions feature satin-painted baffles with a scratch-resistant finish, while the Piano Black version uses a hand-sanded and hand-polished high-gloss finish.

A removable magnetic grille is supplied, allowing the speaker to be used with or without its grille.

Technology

Hybrid Tractrix® Horn

The 90° × 90° Silicon Composite Hybrid Tractrix® Horn uses Klipsch’s Tractrix geometry to efficiently transfer high-frequency energy toward the listening area. The compressed-moulded silicon face and phase plug are intended to contribute to a smoother frequency response.

Titanium LTS Vented Tweeter

The Linear Travel Suspension design is intended to minimise distortion, while the vented tweeter housing reduces standing waves behind the diaphragm that can produce unwanted harmonics.

Cerametallic™ Woofers

The four spun-copper Cerametallic™ woofers use a lightweight, rigid cone construction designed to provide high efficiency and minimise distortion.

Tractrix® Port

The rear-firing Tractrix® port uses specially shaped geometry to promote efficient airflow and reduce turbulence and port noise, particularly at lower frequencies.

The Klipsch RP-404C combines Klipsch’s high-efficiency horn technology with four Cerametallic™ woofers in a dedicated centre-channel design.
