With the launch of the all-new JBL Summit Everest and JBL Summit K2, JBL has completed its prestigious Summit Series — a five-model loudspeaker range representing the brand’s highest level of residential audio engineering. Introduced at High End Vienna 2026 as part of JBL’s 80th anniversary celebrations, the new Everest and K2 replace the previous Project Everest and Project K2 generations, bringing JBL’s latest technologies to its flagship platforms.

Both new models join the already established JBL Summit Makalu, JBL Summit Pumori, and JBL Summit Ama, creating a complete ladder of performance — from compact reference monitor to statement flagship.

JBL Summit Everest — The Pinnacle of the Summit Series

JBL vult Summit serie aan met de nieuwe Everest en K2, te zien op High End Vienna

At the very top sits the new Summit Everest, JBL’s ultimate expression of large-format loudspeaker design. This 3.5-way reference system is built around a newly engineered high-frequency architecture featuring three patented D2820 dual-diaphragm, dual-motor compression drivers, coupled to a large-format HDI Sonoglass® horn through a patent-pending 3-into-1 expansion manifold. This design delivers exceptional speed, dynamic precision, and scale across a vast frequency range.

Supporting this are dual 10-inch Differential Drive mid-bass drivers and dual 15-inch woofers, all using JBL’s advanced HC4 cone technology — a hybrid carbon-cellulose construction engineered for stiffness, low distortion, and immense power handling. Combined with JBL’s MultiCap™ crossover network and custom IsoAcoustics isolation feet, the Everest is designed to deliver extraordinary bass authority, immense scale, and effortless realism. With a sensitivity of 96dB and a frequency response extending down to 20Hz, it is a true statement loudspeaker in every sense.

JBL Summit K2 — Flagship Performance, Refined

Positioned directly below the Everest, the new Summit K2 continues one of JBL’s most iconic loudspeaker names. While more compact in size, it shares much of the Everest’s engineering philosophy, making it a more accessible flagship without compromising the essence of Summit performance.

The K2 uses a three-way architecture, built around JBL’s latest compression driver platform and HDI horn technology, paired with a large-format woofer and advanced crossover design. Like the Everest, it benefits from the new MultiCap™ crossover network, internally braced curved-wall cabinetry, premium OCC internal wiring, and IsoAcoustics isolation feet. The result is a loudspeaker designed to preserve JBL’s signature combination of scale, immediacy, and dynamic realism, but in a form better suited to a wider range of listening environments.

Summit Makalu — Full-Range Performance Without Compromise

The JBL Summit Makalu is where the Summit Series begins to enter serious full-range territory. Larger, more powerful, and more ambitious than the Pumori, Makalu is designed for those who want much of the scale and authority of JBL’s flagship models in a more manageable form.

With larger low-frequency drivers, greater internal cabinet volume, and higher overall output capability, the Makalu offers substantial bass depth and dynamic headroom while retaining the speed and control that define the Summit platform. Its advanced compression driver and HDI waveguide ensure seamless integration across the frequency spectrum, preserving coherence even at high output levels.

Makalu is built for larger listening rooms and listeners who want effortless scale, weight, and realism — offering a direct step toward the performance ideals of the K2 and Everest.

Summit Pumori — Balance in Form and Performance

The JBL Summit Pumori represents the middle point in the Summit range, balancing compact precision with greater full-range authority. As a floorstanding design, it introduces larger drive units and increased cabinet volume, allowing for deeper bass extension, greater dynamic swing, and improved room-filling capability over the Ama.

Pumori is designed for listeners seeking versatility — a loudspeaker capable of resolving fine detail while delivering the energy and impact required for larger-scale music. It maintains JBL’s hallmark horn-loaded speed and transient accuracy, while offering a broader sense of scale and weight.

Its role in the Summit Series is arguably one of the most important: bridging the gap between compact reference performance and true large-format loudspeaker presentation.

Summit Ama — Compact Precision

The JBL Summit Ama may be the most compact model in the range, but it is far from an entry-level product. Designed as a standmount loudspeaker, Ama distills the essential Summit philosophy into a smaller, more room-friendly format. It is built for listeners who value precision, imaging, and tonal purity without sacrificing dynamic capability.

At its core, Ama uses JBL’s advanced compression driver technology coupled to an HDI Sonoglass® waveguide, allowing it to deliver the immediacy, speed, and low distortion that have long defined JBL’s high-end horn-loaded systems. Its cabinet design and crossover architecture are engineered to preserve micro-detail and spatial accuracy, resulting in a speaker that excels in smaller to medium-sized environments where focus and intimacy are paramount.

Ama is proof that scale is not always defined by size — but by execution.

The Summit Series, Fully Realised

With the arrival of the new Summit Everest and Summit K2, JBL’s Summit Series is now complete — a carefully tiered range offering a clear progression in scale, performance, and capability.

From the intimate precision of Ama, through the balanced versatility of Pumori and the commanding authority of Makalu, to the flagship presence of K2 and Everest, each model embodies the same core JBL philosophy: compression-driver speed, horn-loaded dynamics, and uncompromising musical engagement.

Together, they form JBL’s most complete and ambitious residential loudspeaker range to date — a fitting statement for a brand whose legacy has always been built on pushing the boundaries of sound.
